I think the whole point of a lot of these plots twists IS to make the story more than "bad guy needs killing". The reader needs to see that Sukuna isn't a Kurama type where the power of friendship is going to save the story, and a lot of the big characters dying feeds into him being the end-game boss. Personally I think that the writing of JJK is excellent, particularly BECAUSE it doesn't fall into the usual shonen tropes of easy wins.

Jujutsu kaisen is easier than chainsaw man to many people. JJK's massive presence on roblox is enough to prove that, people like it's simplicity and big payoffs for little watch time. I'd say that viewer who are only in it for the cool fights and animation have plenty of time to also understand the characters and basic themes. When having a conversation with a friend about JJK I mention that everything that happened within the first two seasons probably should have happened within the first five seasons. Many things could have been hyped up for much longer, but they eventually get blown off or revealed prematurely. I don't want to be disrespectful and say that JJK is a favorite of the less media literate, but it is definitely a great watch for those who care less about the plot and themes. It took a lot of effort not to dick-ride CSM here.

Just some personal points regerding the video: - Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru) should be put above Megumi IMO. the puppet that he used against Panda is already comparable to Grade 1 sorcerers and after his body was healed he had an army of puppets, not on the same level of the one who fought Panda but an army nonetheless, and then his Ultimate Mechamaru and fight against Mahito was impressive, Mahito pre-Shibuya should be equal or a bit stronger than someone like Dagon who was about to actually kill 2 Grade 1s and a Semi-grade 1 at the same time if not for another Grade 1 that abnormally had a domain which is not usual for a grade 1. If he didn't had a domain Megumi would have probably been put on the list too, while Kokichi was holding his own all alone. - I don't get how Maki would be under Todo. Todo is sure even stronger than before and the "vibraslap-Boogie-Woogie" is broken, but i would also put in prospective that Todo's technique becomes inherently stronger and difficult to deal with when there are more targets to choose from, especially if the majority of those are on your side, on top of that Sukuna being even more weaker than the one Higuruma, Maki, Yuta and Yuji already confronted and also the fact that Todo is the perfect assist for making Yuji hit Sukuna with those "soul punches" which are also a good counter to Sukuna in the state he's in. Todo still lacks the firepower to permanently K.O. enemies with really high defences like Maki, Yuta or even Hakari (Jackpot). Todo can teleport all he wants but as soon an enemy like Maki starts to adapt and hits him with a serious attack (like Maki's soul-splitting attacks) the game is practically over. She could argubly even be put as far as equal or slightly higher than Yuji IMO.
